How to use the u-BACCH Audio Plugin with Audirvana

*u-BACCH does not currently work properly within Audirvana for many systems. We are actively working on a fix with Audirvana. In the meantime, you may be able to route your audio from Audirvana through another plugin host running uBACCH. See our guide here.

Installing Audirvana

  1. Download and install Audirvana:

    • Visit the official Audirvana website and choose the version for your operating system (Windows or macOS).

    • Download the installer and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.

    • After installation, launch Audirvana from your applications folder or start menu.

Loading the u-BACCH Audio Plugin

  1. Download the u-BACCH Audio Plugin:

    • Visit the u-BACCH Audio Plugin page and choose the version for your operating system (Windows or macOS).

    • Download the plugin. Make sure you're downloading the correct version compatible with Audirvana.

  2. Install the u-BACCH Audio Plugin:

    • Find the downloaded plugin file (it might be a .vst3 for Windows OS or a .vst3 & .component file for Mac OS).

    • Install the plugin by following the provided instructions. This often involves simply dragging the file to a specific plugins folder.

  3. Configure Audirvana to Use the Plugin:

    • Open Audirvana and click on the Settings button from the top-right corner.

    • Click on the cog button from the second “Bufferized” module.

    • On the Settings window, enable the effects functionalities, select and configure the BACCH Labs uBACCHaudio plugin from the drop-down list.

    • Audirvana should detect the u-BACCH Audio Plugin. Once detected, you may need to enable the plugin within Audirvana by switching on “Use Audio Units effects” buton. The plugin functions with the “Realtime control” button on.

    • Select your output mode from the Built-in section.

Listening to Music

  1. Importing Music to Audirvana:

    • On the left-side panel, you can add your music library, import music files from your computer or connect to a streaming service if supported.

  2. Playing Music with the u-BACCH Audio Plugin:

    • Browse your music library in Audirvana and select a track or album you want to play.

    • Before playing, ensure that the u-BACCH Audio Plugin is selected as the active plugin.

    • Play the music. The sound will be processed through the u-BACCH Audio Plugin, enhancing your listening experience. The interface of the plugin will be displayed.

  3. Adjust Settings (Optional):

    • While listening, you can adjust the plugin settings according to your preference.

    • To adjust the setting of the Audirvana app you have to dezactivate the “Exclusive audio access mode”.

    • Experiment with different settings in the plugin to find the sound profile that suits you best.
